LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Southern Mississippi has agreed to be the visiting team for its football game against Nebraska next fall in exchange for a $2.1 million paycheck.

The schools announced the agreement Thursday.

The Golden Eagles had been scheduled to host the Cornhuskers in Hattiesburg on Sept. 7, 2013. The game now will be played in Lincoln on the same date.

The game gives Nebraska eight home games in 2013 and will be the second in a three-game agreement with Southern Miss. The schools opened the 2012 season against each other with Nebraska winning 49-20. Southern Miss is also scheduled to visit Lincoln on Sept. 26, 2015.

Nebraska is paying an average of $1 million per game - $300,000 for 2012, $2.125 million for 2013 and $700,000 for 2015.
