NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Atlanta Falcons by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
ATLANTA FALCONS (5)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 5) - Will allow a breather after they clinch division.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 8) - Has any 11-2 team every gotten as little respect? Don't think so.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 3)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 7) - Hopefully a wake up call for them after an ugly performance against Carolina.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 5) - Off day in Carolina or were the Falcons exposed? They'll find out quickly when they host the defending Super Bowl champs on Sunday.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 5) - The Falcons were the last of the NFL unbeatens this season at 8-0 but suddenly look very vulnerable. Atlanta has lost two of its last five games and won two others by four points or less.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 3) - Enough already. Let's move on to the playoffs and see if these guys can win a game.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 5) - For the first time this season, they weren't ready to play in Charlotte.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 4) - It isn't time to panic because they lost their second game of the year, but the doubters didn't need much more to sound the alert. This week they face the Giants then we'll know a lot more about this team.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 6) - The Panthers outplayed the Falcons the first time, but fell short on the scoreboard. This time they outplayed them and the scoreboard agreed.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 6) - Maybe the Falcons will stop worrying about a lack of national media "respect" and earn it with performances better than the one they gave in Sunday's 30-20 loss to Carolina.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 6) - Was loss to the Panthers a blip, or was it the start of a tailspin?
