EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Adrian Peterson has come a long way since he tore two ligaments in his left knee less than a year ago.

But Peterson didn't need much time to show the Minnesota Vikings significant progress in his rehabilitation, and the NFL's leading rusher soon made clear his recovery would not be like the others. Vikings head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman says he vividly remembers watching Peterson run on the turf for the first time last spring, looking like he was never injured.

Peterson is 14 games into his comeback season, needing 294 yards over the last two weeks to break Eric Dickerson's all-time single-season rushing record. He is 188 yards from becoming the seventh player in league history to reach 2,000 yards in one year.
