NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Pittsburgh Steelers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses): --- PITTSBURGH STEELERS (17) Chris Berman (ESPN, 17) - Playoffs missed on 40th anniversary of Immaculate Reception is sacrilege. Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 21) - Age, injuries, and inconsistent offense could not be overcome. Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 15) Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 15) - Never saw this coming, a complete collapse for Tomlin and the Steelers losing five of their last six down the stretch. Bob Glauber (Newsday, 17) - Not used to seeing a playoff concession speech by Mike Tomlin. But his team hasn't been right all season, so this is what he's left with. Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 19) - The Steelers lead the NFL in defense this season, but a paucity of sacks (33) and takeaways (16) have spelled their doom. Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 19) - 'Tis not the season to be jolly in Pittsburgh. Five losses in six games keep the coal industry in business. Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 17) - Mediocrity doesn't cut it with the Steelers, and that's why they'll soon be back. Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 19) - Steelers' story is like the Giants story a disappointment! John Lynch (Fox Sports, 17) Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 18) - Expect significant roster changes next year because of player age and salary-cap restraints. That should make for an emotional season-finale against visiting Cleveland. Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 16) - Be careful what you wish for, angry Steelers fans. Firing Mike Tomlin is not the answer. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL
