FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - New York Jets special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff is sticking to his plan to retire after the season finale Sunday at Buffalo.

Westhoff announced Thursday that he was conducting his last news conference, saying he will cap his 30-year NFL coaching career against the Bills - as he planned to do before the season. The 64-year-old coach is considered one of the league's most innovative special teams coaches. He has spent the last 12 years with the Jets after 15 as Miami's special teams coach and three with Indianapolis.

Westhoff says he had ``a great run,'' and won't rule out coaching again someday but would like to get into the media as an expert on special teams. He also says assistant Ben Kotwica will take over for him with the Jets.
