AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - University of Texas regents spoke Sunday to discuss recently disclosed cases of coaches' inappropriate relationships with students.

The regents held a special meeting by phone that was not open to the public. They said no action would be taken, and system Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa declined immediate comment.

Women's track coach Bev Kearney resigned last month while under investigation for a 2002 relationship with an athlete in her program. Texas officials have said they were in the process of firing her.

Football offensive coordinator Major Applewhite acknowledged Friday he was disciplined by the school in 2009 for his conduct with a student during the Longhorns' trip to the Fiesta Bowl.

Kearney's lawyer, Derek Howard, has suggested the track coach was treated unfairly and may sue the university.
