MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - This year's recruits for Minnesota include only one in-state scholarship player, linebacker Chris Wipson from Wayzata.

Most analysts have ranked the Gophers near or at the bottom of the Big Ten in terms of the perceived quality of the new class. But coach Jerry Kill and his staff had several signings to be happy about on Wednesday as prospects sent in their national letters of intent.

They persuaded linebacker De'Vondre Campbell to pick Minnesota and ignore his verbal commitment to Kansas State. They also got quarterback Donovahn Jones to change his mind from Missouri. And they're bringing in running back Berkley Edwards, the younger brother of NFL wide receiver Braylon Edwards.

Kill said he made an in-home visit with the families of all but one player in the class.
