NEW YORK (AP) - Former Madison Square Garden Sports president Scott O'Neil has joined the advisory board of ScoreBig.com, a website for the sale of unused entertainment tickets.

O'Neil, a former executive in the NBA league office who oversaw team marketing and business operations before moving to MSG in 2008, said 40 percent of tickets go unsold every year and ScoreBig can move that inventory and bring the casual fans back into the games.

Fans can enter the amount of seats they want and the level seat they seek, rated from one to five stars, and what they wish to pay for them. If the price is accepted, the customer's credit card is charged.

O'Neil resigned in September after four years managing the NBA's Knicks, the NHL's Rangers, the Liberty of the WNBA, and the Connecticut Whale of the AHL. Revenue for MSG Sports grew over 40 percent under O'Neil.

Founded in 2009, ScoreBig's board also includes David Goldberg, former Ticketmaster EVP; Gideon Yu, president of the San Francisco 49ers and former chief financial officer of Facebook and YouTube; Shari Redstone, vice chairman of the board of Viacom and CBS; Finn Wentworth, former president and chief operating officer of YankeeNets; and Cheryl Rosner, former CEO of TicketsNow.com and president of Hotels.com.

ScoreBig.com CEO Adam Kanner said the majority of tickets on other sites are sold for more than face value, while his offer savings of up to 60 percent with no fees.
