CLEVELAND (AP) - Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has returned to his role as CEO of Pilot Flying J, a move that will not affect his involvement with the NFL franchise.

Haslam, who bought the Browns for $1 billion from Randy Lerner in August, had left the truck-stop business in September when he hired former PepsiCo chairman John Compton. On Monday, the Knoxville, Tenn.-based company announced that Haslam is returning as CEO and Compton will assume a new role as strategic adviser to Pilot Flying J, the Browns and Haslam family.

Haslam noted in a release the Browns have hired Joe Banner as the club's CEO.

Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis said Haslam's decision to return to Pilot Flying J ``will have no impact on the operations of the Browns nor will it affect Jimmy's involvement with the team.''
