NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Tulane quarterback Nick Montana says he appreciates the attention he's getting from Green Wave fans, even though he feels he hasn't done much to earn it yet.

Montana says he's been dealing with such attention his whole life, and understands that it's part of being the son of Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana and playing the same position.

After Tulane's recent spring game, Montana found himself surrounded by fans, and patiently signed jerseys, balls and even Joe Montana football cards.

The young Montana also hopes has NFL aspirations, and arrives at Tulane as a junior college transfer with much to prove in Division I. He says he's more mature, and more focused on football and his studies, than when he started college at Washington in 2010.
