MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -Memphis accepted a bid to the New Orleans Bowl on Saturday night, putting the Tigers in postseason for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
Memphis (6-5, 5-2 Conference USA) will face the champion of the Sun Belt Conference, either Troy or Florida Atlantic, on Dec. 21 at the Superdome.
The Tigers won the New Orleans Bowl in 2003, beating North Texas 27-17.
Memphis had been to only one bowl game in its history, the 1971 Pasadena Bowl against San Jose State, before 2003.
