BOISE, Idaho (AP) -Boise State accepted a bid on Sunday to face East Carolina in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 23.
The No. 24 Broncos (10-2) lost their last regular season game in Aloha Stadium to Western Athletic Conference champion Hawaii 39-27 on Nov. 23. East Carolina (7-5), the No. 5 team from Conference USA, accepted a bid from Hawaii Bowl officials on Saturday.
Before No. 10 Hawaii beat Washington and was picked for the BCS Sugar Bowl against No. 4 Georgia, there was concern in the Broncos camp that BSU would end up in its home stadium in the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise.
``I already know the players' preference is to go somewhere and experience something different,'' Boise State coach Chris Petersen said earlier.
