PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -Rutgers defensive tackle Justin Francis was suspended Friday after being arrested a day earlier.
Francis, of Miramar, Fla., was arrested Thursday, said coach Greg Schiano, who refused to give any details about the arrest or whether the sophomore had been released.
``Unfortunately, Justin got arrested yesterday,'' Schiano said at the end of his spring press conference. ``It hasn't been released, but I know it and I want to let (reporters) know it. I don't have a ton of information, but I'm going to let the legal system, as I usually do, run its course and comment on it then.''
Francis played in seven games and made seven tackles as a freshman last season. He was expected to compete for the starting job.
