In 1991, rapper L.L. Cool J released a song called Mama Said Knock You Out from which the lyrics have always seemed to stick in my head. The song starts with a news report triumphantly re-introducing a once-absent Cool J, after which he exclaims “Don’t call it a comeback, I’ve been here for years”…
Well, don’t call this release of the 2008 StatFox Edge Football Annual a comeback either, because we’ve also been here for years, we just put the Edge on a one-year hiatus. Unfortunately, expanded business interests a year ago prevented us from continuing our 5-year run of producing one of the most sought after yearly football preview magazines. Nevertheless, we're back and ready to help you on the way to a big season!
Please accept of our apologies if you were one of the many readers that voiced their disappointment last fall. In any case, thank you for choosing the 2008 StatFox Edge Football Annual for your handicapping needs. In terms of both pages and valuable handicapping information, this is the largest edition of the Edge we’ve ever made. We hope you notice the difference.
Here are some of the most useful features and articles you’ll find loaded in this 136-page “Ultimate Handicapping Resource”:
- Team-by-team betting angles – We’ve supplied at least six applicable trends for every college team, and eight for every pro team, all with spots to watch for on the 2008 schedule.
- Key Statistics Articles – Both I and StatFox Doug reveal some of our favorite team statistics to utilize when handicapping college and pro football.
- FoxSheets College Systems (pg 127) – The FoxSheets offer thousands of Super Situations, or Systems, for games throughout the season. I dig into the library and discuss a number of early season college systems that will help you get the season started right.
- Top Weekly Head-to-Head Football Trends (pgs 46-47) – StatFox has scoured the entire schedule of college & pro football games this fall and revealed the most potent head-to-head patterns that have developed over the years between rivals.
- StatFox Doug’s 11 Powerful College Trends (pgs 134-135) – Doug reveals 11 of his favorite trends in college football that he is going to put to use and when this fall.
- Previews, Predictions, Team Capsules, and more!
Like all of our other past annuals, bowl, and tournament guides, the fundamental thought process that goes into developing this magazine is to make sure it is the single best football HANDICAPPING annual available anywhere, shelf or online. We’ll gladly put the StatFox Edge products head-to-head against any competition when it comes to making you a more knowledgeable and profitable handicapper!
We’re pleased with how the Edge turned out, and hope you are too.
If you’d like to see more of this type of information every week, be sure to fill out and return the Platinum Sheet subscription insert card in the middle of the Edge magazine, or simply call our subscription office at 1-877-514-4220.
We hope you enjoy the magazine and it helps make the 2008-09 football season one to remember...
