vs. CINCINNATI BEARCATS (10-0)

U.S. Bank Arena - Cincinnati, OH
Tip-off: Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. ET

One of college basketball’s most bitter rivalries resumes when No. 11 Cincinnati hosts Xavier on Wednesday night.

Xavier has won four of five SU and three of four ATS in this series including last year’s game, a 23-point Musketeers win marred by an ugly brawl. Neither team has played much of a schedule so far this year, with Xavier going 4-3 ATS while Cincinnati is 4-2 ATS.

Can the Bearcats cover in the latest edition of this rivalry? For the answer, connect to College Basketball Best Bets for all the Expert picks throughout the entire 2012-13 season. The StatFox experts have been on fire in the past five days, as Tuesday's 6-2 ATS mark brings them to a collective 27-9 ATS (75%) from Friday through Tuesday. StatFox Dave is 11-1 ATS and StatFox Scott is 7-1 ATS over this stretch. The experts now have a collective 54% ATS mark (141-120-6) in college basketball Best Bets for the season, led by StatFox Gary, who is 57.1% ATS (28-21) for the season, while Dave is at 57.0% ATS (53-40-2) on the year. StatFox Brian's 5-2 ATS run put him at 51% ATS (31-30-2) for the season, while StatFox Scott is an even 50% ATS (29-29-2).

The Bearcats have ridden offensive firepower to their perfect start. They’re averaging 83.0 PPG on 46.6% FG, and are also holding opponents to 58.9 PPG on 34.5% FG. They also have a dominating rebounding margin of +11.5 RPG. Their veteran backcourt of PG Cashmere Wright (14.9 PPG, 47.5% 3-pt FG) and SG Sean Kilpatrick (19.3 PPG) has been superb in the early going. But the two of them were effectively locked down by Xavier a year ago, combining for just 15 points on 4-for-20 FG.

Xavier has survived with some excellent shot-making so far. They’re hitting 49.9% FG and 38.9% 3-pt FG through nine games. Freshman PG Semaj Christon (15.8 PPG, 5.4 APG) has led the way. After coming off the bench in the season opener, Christon moved into the starting lineup and is averaging 17.7 PPG and 5.0 APG over seven starts. But it’s been the shooting of SG Dee Davis (11.9 PPG, 47.6% 3-pt FG), SF Justin Martin (12.4 PPG, 59.6% FG, 46.4% threes) and SG Brad Redford (7.8 PPG, 42.4% 3-pt FG) that has carried the Musketeers offensively.
