Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund meet in China at the International Champions Cup.

Manchester United has been very active in the summer transfer market, and some of its new signings will be on display in the high-profile International Champions Cup. How the Red Devils will line up is a bit of a mystery, and it could depend on whether manager Jose Mourinho wants to figure out his ideal starting XI or simply give young players a chance to impress. At the back, David De Gea, Sergio Romero, and Sam Johnstone could feature in net. Defensively, new signing Eric Bailly will play alongside Daley Blind, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, and Chris Smalling, amongst others. Henrikh Mkhitaryan will lead the midfield against his old side, having joined United from Borussia Dortmund this summer, and the likes of Antonio Valencia, Adnan Januzaj, Juan Mata, and Andreas Pereira will look to show Mourinho why they should be featured players during the season. In attack, United will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Memphis Depay, Ashley Young, Will Keane, Marcus Rashford, and Wayne Rooney will all be available for selection. As for Dortmund, goalkeepers Roman Weidenfeller, Roman Burki, and Hendrik Bonmann will make the journey to China, and the defense will be led by marquee signing Marc Bartra, Erik Durm, Matthias Ginter, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, and Marcel Schmelzer, though Raphael Guerreiro, a European champion with Portugal, will not make the trip. In midfield, Sven Bender, Shinji Kagawa, Emre Mor, Marco Reus, Sebastian Rode, Nuri Sahin, and young American Christian Pulisic will feature, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and talented 19-year-old Ousmane Dembele up front. This game should be free-flowing, and over 2.5 goals will be scored. Ultimately, the spoils could be split in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
