Manchester City hosts Barcelona in an intriguing Group C matchup. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had no luck in his return to his former home, as Barcelona defeated his Citizens 4-0 in the reverse fixture of this tie. Now in Manchester, City will look to avenge that embarrassing defeat. Claudio Bravo will miss out through red card suspension, so Willy Caballero should start in net. In defense, City will go with Pablo Zabaleta, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, and Aleksandar Kolarov. The midfield should feature Fernando and Fernandinho, with Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, and Ilkay Gundogan in more advanced roles behind lone striker Raheem Sterling. Barcelona will counter with Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal and a defensive unit of Lucas Digne, Samuel Umtiti, Javier Mascherano, and Sergi Roberto. Andres Iniesta will miss out through injury in midfield, so Denis Suarez could slot in alongside Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic. In attack, the feared trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi will look to find the back of the net for the Spanish side. Although both offensively talented, under 3.5 goals will be scored in this game. Barcelona will be too much to handle yet again, and will leave the Etihad with a 2-0 victory.
