UFC Fight Night 206: Holloway vs. Pettis

Saturday, December 10th
Toronto, Ontario

Max Holloway (16-3-0) vs. Anthony Pettis (19-5-0)

Five Round Featherweight Interim Title Bout
Line: Holloway -165, Pettis +135

Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis meet for the interim featherweight title at UFC Fight Night 206.

Max Holloway is one of UFC’s brightest young prospects, having racked up 16 career victories at the age of just 25. He has won nine fights in a row, and will be looking for his tenth straight against Anthony Pettis, a fellow young and talented fighter. Pettis, 29, recently lost three straight bouts, but recovered in his most recent outing with a victory over Charles Oliveira.

Holloway lands an impressive 5.61 significant strikes per minute at a 43.31 percent clip. He absorbs 3.76 such strikes and has a defense rate of 67.26 percent. The Hawaii native averages 0.17 takedown attempts per 15 minutes with an accuracy of 66.67 percent. Holloway defends takedowns at an 82.80 percent rate, and averages 0.61 submission attempts per 15 minutes. He doesn’t go down to the ground easily.

Pettis lands a relatively meager 2.54 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy of 43.83 percent. He absorbs 2.38 significant strikes per minute and has a defense rate of 57.89 percent. Pettis, a Wisconsin native, averages 0.84 takedown attempts per 15 minutes at a 58.82 percent rate. He defends takedowns at a 61.39 percent clip, and averages a solid 1.18 submission attempts per 15 minutes. Pettis will be more eager to get onto the mat than Holloway, as he doesn’t stand much of a chance in a brawl.
