INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana receiver Isaac Griffith has shed some tears, shared some laughs and repeatedly thanked his friends for saving his life.
His parents were just as emotional Saturday as they joined two of the three people who pulled Griffiths out of a rip current off the Florida coast for a 30-minute news conference in the Hoosiers' team room.
Mostly, it was a somber, reflective time for everyone involved.
Kim Griffith, the freshman's mother, wiped her eyes several times. Shannon Griffith, the football coach at Division III Manchester University, stopped a couple of times to remain composed. And with two of his rescuers sitting to his side, Isaac Griffith wept briefly as he spoke publicly for the first time since that life-changing experience.
